OLD FASHIONED (PUMPKIN PIE)





1 LARGE CAN (1 POUND 13 ounces PUMPKIN) or 2 small pumpkins (PIE) CUT CLEANED, SEEDED and PUREED. 1 CUP BROWN SUGAR<>1 CUP WHITE SUGAR<> 1/4 teaspoon CLOVES<>3 TEASPOONS CINNAMON<>2 TEASPOONS GINGER<>1 TEASPOON SALT<>4 EGGS (beaten)<>1 CUP EVAPORATED MILK<>1 CUP HEAVY CREAM<>UNBAKED PIE SHELL deep dish 10 in.<>SET OVEN TO MODERATE 350 degrees F, COMBINE FIRST 8 ingredients, MIX WELL.<>COMBINE EVAPORATED MILK and CREAM, heat to SCALDING POINT and MIX WELL.<>POUR INTO UNBAKED PIE SHELL.<>(BAKE 1 1/2 HOURS for DEEP 10 in pie. (PIE IS DONE WHEN KNIFE INSERTED , COMES OUT CLEAN!!!!  DELICIOUS, TOP with meringue or WHIPPED CREAM!!!!
