PINEAPPLE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE (look pineapple is upside down!!!!
REALLY UPSIDE-DOWN PINEAPPLE CAKE!!!!<>1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR<>3 TABLESPOONS BUTTER<>1 CAN (about 1 pound) PINEAPPLE SLICES, (OR 1 WHOLE PINEAPPLE) <><>3/4 cup MILK<>2 CUPS SIFTED (CAKE FLOUR)<>3 teaspoons BAKING POWDER<>1/4 teaspoon SALT<><>1/4 CUP SHORTENING<>1 CUP SUGAR<>1 EGG well BEATEN<>1 teaspoon VANILLA<><>MARASCHINO CHERRIES<><>SET (OVEN to moderate, 350 degreesF)<>(SPRINKLE BROWN SUGAR in BOTTOM of well GREASED PAN, 9x9x2 inhes)<>DOT with BUTTER<>MELT MIXTURE over very LOW HEAT<>DRAIN PINEAPPLE, (PLACE SLICES in PAN with CHERRY in CENTER of each SLICE)<>(SIFT together FLOUR< BAKING POWDER,<and SALT<>(CREAM SHORTENING.<>ADD SUGAR gradually and BEAT until FLUFFY.<>(ADD EGGS and VANILLA, beat WELL.<>ADD (FLOUR MIXTURE, a little at a time, alternately with MILK<>(POUR BATTER over FRUIT)<><>BAKE 1 HOUR or until LIGHT BROWN<><>FUN PART!!!!
