PENUCHE NUT FROSTING (YUMMY)




PENUCHE NUT FROSTING<>1 CUP BROWN SUGAR, (FIRMLY PACKED)<>1/4 CUP MILK<>1/4 CUP SHORTENING<>1/4 tsp. SALT<>1 tsp. VANILLA<>1 CUP NUTS (WALNUTS or PECANS OR BUTTERNUTS, chopped)<><>PLACE (BROWN SUGAR , MILK, SHORTENING and SALT in a SAUCEPAN)<>BRING slowly to a FULL ROLLING BOIL)<>stirring constantly and BOIL for 1 MINUTE<>REMOVE, beat UNTIL LUKE WARM<>ADD (VANILLA, beat until THICK enough to SPREAD<>THE MIXTURE may still be WARM.<>IF FROSTING becomes too THICK, ADD a little CREAM<>ADD (NUTS and SPREAD on CAKE<>FROSTS an 8x8x2 inch CAKE<><>THIS IS A DELICIOUS FROSTING!!!!
