BUTTERMILK DOUGHNUTS (sooooh! GOOD)




BUTTERMILK DOUGHNUTS<>1 CUP SUGAR<>( 4 TBSP. CRISCO oil or MELTED SHORTENING)<>2 CUPS BUTTERMILK<>1 TSP. SODA<> 1 TSP. SALT<> 1 EGG<> (FLOUR 3-4 CUPS<>2 TSP. BAKING POWDER<>(SCANT 1/2 TSP. GINGER<>(1 TSP. NUTMEG<><>CREAM together SUGAR, SHORTENING and EGG. add BUTTERMILK<>SIFT together dry ingredients ADD to (BUTTERMILK MIXTURE)<>(DOUGH should be STIFF enough to HANDLE) <>ROLL out on FLOURED BOARD, (CUT and FRY in HOT OIL)<>test with a doughnut hole, it should sink and come (UP to the TOP) then DOUGHNUTS are DONE!!!    sooo!  GOOD, BEST DOUGHNUTS EVER!!!!!!
