SHELL-BEAN SUCCOTASH

INGREDIENTS<><>1/4 lb. LEAN BACON OR HAM cut into 1/4 inch dice<><>1/1/4 CUPS finely chopped ONION<><>1 1/2 CUP or more WATER<><>2 CUPS SHELL BEANS or LIMA BEANS OUT OF THE SHELL,<><>3 CUP KERNEL CORN FRESH or FROZEN<><>1/2  CUP HEAVY CREAM<><>SALT and PEPPER to TASTE<><>2 tbsp chopped chives.<><>PUT BACON CUBES IN SAUCEPAN  AND ADD ONION, COOK STIRRING, UNTIL ONION IS WILTED.<><>ADD WATER AND BEANSCOOK UNTIL TENDER, COOKING TIME VARIES,20 to 40 minutes depending on age of BEAN,<><>ADD WATER AND COOK BEANS. ADD KERNEL CORN  AND CREAM COOK 5 minutes longer.ADD SALT<PEPPER AND CHIVES. makes 10 SERVINGS.!!!!!
