FRIED CHICKEN with CREAM GRAVY



THIS IS A FAVORITE OF MINE, (We used to raise chickens when i was young and my Dad used to put the chicken to sleep forever, and my mom and us kids had to dip them in scalding water to take off the feathers, it sounds awful but thats' how it was done along time ago) THEN MY MOM WOULD CLEAN THE BIRD< AND MY DAD WOULD CUT UP THE BIRD FOR FRYING) AND I LOVE FRIED CHICKEN and CREAM GRAVY!!!!!(INGREDIENTS<><> 1 EGG<><>1 CUP MILK<><>1 FRYING CHICKEN CUT UP<><>2 CUPS OF FLOUR<><>1/4 to 1/2 inch SHORTENING or VEGETABLE OIL<><>WHIP EGGS and MILK together. DIP THE CHICKEN PIECES into the EGG mixture, then ROLL THEM IN FLOUR. HEAT SHORTENING or OIL in FRYING PAN until it begins to SIZZLE, THEN ADD the CHICKEN. BROWN on all SIDES, ADD SALT AND PEPPER lightly, COVER PAN and TURN HEAT TO MEDIUM LOW. (COOK for 30 to 40 MINUTES, TURNING the PIECES at least ONCE. REMOVE TO A PLATE TO KEEP WARM.!!! (CREAM GRAVY) DRAIN off all but about 2 tablespoon of the GREASE in FRYING PAN. SPRINKLE 2 to 3 tablespoons FLOUR into the pan and STIR OVER MEDIUM HEAT until yhe FLOUR BEGINS TO BROWN>ADD 1/2 CUP at a time. 2 CUPS MILK, stirring well to keep GRAVY SMOOTH. SALT and PEPPER to TASTE!!!!!!!!!!!!                   THIS IS lick CHICKEN GOOD!!!!!!
