EASTER ( HOT CROSS BUNS )



EATING SPECIAL CAKES AT TIME OF SPRING FESTIVAL ON GOOD FRIDAY..  (HOT CROSS BUNS)  HOT CROSS BUN IS A ROUND BUN MADE FROM RICH YEAST DOUGH MARKED WITH A FROSTING IN THE SHAPE OF A CROSS>><>INGREDIENTS<><>( 1 cup of lukewarm milk)<><><><>1 package of yeast<><>LET STAND 5 MINUTES. STIR, ADD (3/4 cup sugar)<><>1 tbs salt<><.>1/4 cup soft butter<><>2 eggs<><>BEAT THOROUGHLY WITH A HEAVY EGG BEATER OR ELECTRIC MIXER, BEAT IN,<>1. 1/2 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR<><>REMOVE THE BEATER. LET THE DOUGH RISE ABOUT 40 minutes<><>MIX IN 1 CUP FLOUR<> Add enough more Flour, if necessary to make the dough just barely firm ENOUGH TO HANDLE. COVER AND CHILL 1/2 hour in the refrigerator>>KNEAD AND SHAPE IN FORM of BUN<><>ARRANGE IN BUTTERED PANS<><>BAKE AT 400degrees  until till delicately BROWN. 20 minutes accordingly to size<><> (HOT CROSS BUNS)<>Mark Hot Raisin Buns with Portsmouth Frosting)<><>MELT IN A SMALL HEAVY PAN<><><><>1/4 cup BUTTER<><>Remove from the Heat<>ADD 1/4 CUP CREAM OR MILK<><>BEAT IN CONFECTIONERS SUGAR<> until thick enough to spread, BEAT UNTIL SMOOTH<>Flavor with RUM or VANILLA, ( put on BUN in the shape of a CROSS)!!!!!!!!!!!!
